An in-person commencement of sorts is in the planning stages for the graduating class of 2021, according to an email sent to pending graduates of Wartburg College.
“We are planning a modified in-person Commencement on Sunday, May 30, at 10:30 a.m.,” wrote Darrel Colson, president of Wartburg. “In keeping with our campus guidelines, we will move the ceremony outside onto Zimmerman Field in Walston-Hoover Stadium, which will allow for adequate spacing and even some guest attendance.”
Colson also wrote that the dates for other senior traditions, such as the senior dinner and senior pig roast, have been set. The senior dinner is planned for May 4, with the senior pig roast May 27.
More details regarding commencement will be available in upcoming weeks.
