WARTBURG WOMEN’S GOLF EARNS RUNNER-UP A-R-C TITLE

WARTBURG SPORTS INFORMATION

The Wartburg Women’s Golf Team concluded the 2019 Fall season with its best team score of three rounds at the American Rivers Conference Championships on Monday, Oct. 7, at Ames Golf & Country Club, turning in a score of 328 in the final round to finish in second place.

The University of Dubuque took home the title and finished 21 strokes ahead of the Knights. Wartburg completed the tournament with a final score of 1,006

“Our young team gave a great effort in tough conditions this weekend,” Greg Bodensteiner, Wartburg head coach, said. “We were unable to reach our ultimate goal but gained some valuable experience for the future of our program.”

Katie Choate ’21 led the Orange and Black and finished in sixth place with scores 86, 82 and 79 for a total score of 247 and earned All-Conference honors. Choate’s final round with a 79 was Wartburg’s best score of the tournament. 

Each Wartburg golfer finished among the top 20. 

Mackenzie Roberts ’21 finished in 12th place with a 254, while Ashley DeLong ’23 tied for 14th with a 257. Jenna Krogulski ’23 scored a 261 for 19th place and Alisha Ford ’22 followed with 263 for 20th. 

The Knights concluded the Fall season.
