Saturday will go down as one to remember on the field, the pitch and the course for Warburg College athletics. The women’s soccer team, football team, and men’s and women’s cross-country teams all shined bright on a cold and gloomy day.
Wartburg men’s and women’s cross country are running for a cause this season as they continue to honor former coach and athletic director, John Kurtt, ‘53, who passed away on Aug. 23 of 2022, at age 91.
The Wartburg men’s tennis season kicked off the weekend of Feb. 5 and 6 with three wins and one loss.
Wartburg College hosted its 23rd annual Unified Sports Day on Feb. 12.
Beginning this semester, John Cochrane will take over as the newly appointed director of athletics at Wartburg.
Fall sports are in full swing at Wartburg College with all teams playing at least one game.
On April 26, 2021, Lewis “Buzz” Levick died at age 94. His legend extended off the court. Levick was not just known as a good basketball coach though, he was a mentor and friend.
Wartburg’s cheer and dance teams are getting into formation to get back into action.
Unified Sports Day, a day that allows Wartburg students to engage in various activities with Special Olympics athletes, has been cancelled for 2021. The event was to take place on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021.
