Winter sports will wait until the new year.
The American Rivers Conference announced Monday that they are postponing all winter sports until “no earlier than Jan. 1, 2021,” according to a press release by the A-R-C.

The decision was made in response to the ongoing impact of COVID-19, the release said.
The winter sports, consisting of women’s and men’s basketball, women’s and men’s indoor track, and field and wrestling, will still be permitted to practice before Jan. 1. Basketball and wrestling can start practice no earlier than Oct. 1, while indoor track and field could start practice immediately.
The conference plans to update schedules for the previously delayed fall sports of football, women’s and men’s soccer and volleyball by Sept. 30.
