VIDEO: WOMEN’S BASKETBALL DEFEAT LORAS IN OVERTIME

Before taking down Loras, the Wartburg women’s basketball team defeated the Dubuque Spartans last Saturday 88-47, and the Simpson Storm the Saturday before that with a score of 102-62. This game against Simpson was the fifth time the women’s basketball team has broken 100 points this season.

The Storm started off leading the Knights until the end of the first quarter. Emma Gerdes and Tori Hazard lead the Knights with 19 points each.

The Knights carried their momentum into Wednesday night’s game to earn a victory against the team leading the ARC conference at the time, Loras Duhawks, 79-76 in overtime.

Payton Draper lead the Knights with 15 points. With the win, the Knights improve to 13-2 in conference play claiming first place with the Duhawks trailing behind with a record of 12-3.

The women’s basketball team will end their regular season tomorrow, Feb. 28 at 4pm in Levick Arena as they face Loras once again in the ARC Championship.
