The No. 1-ranked Wartburg wrestling team improved to 11-0 on the season and 3-0 during American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) play with a 47-0 shutout victory on the road at No. 17 Luther College on Thursday, Jan. 16.

The orange and black won all 10 individual bouts, including pins from Kobey Pritchard ’22, Brady Fritz ’22, Martine Sandoval ’20, Max Forsyth ’20 and Paul Calo ’23. The victory came after the Knights earned the top spot in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) dual meet team rankings on Jan. 15.

Wartburg was ranked second in the previous poll behind Augsburg University, but the Knights moved ahead of the Auggies after the NWCA National Duals. Wartburg took down four ranked opponents, which included a 24-15 victory over Augsburg in the championship. Individually, seven Knights were ranked, including No. 1 rankings for Kris Rumph ’22 at 133 pounds and Fritz.
