After Simpson opened the dual with a decision, Wartburg took the reigns for the 47-3 victory.
The Knights went up 22-3 before the teams took an intermission to honor three-time National Champion Kenny Anderson. Anderson had unexpectedly passed away a month prior to the meet. A tribute to Anderson was played before action resumed on the mat.
