Experiences define a Warburg education. The Study Away Photo Contest allowed students to the experiences from the various study abroad opportunities at Wartburg including semester abroad, May term abroad and the Wartburg West and Des Moines Urban Studies Programs.

“I was able to step out of my comfort zone and lead my peers,” Jared Feigenbaum, third-year social work major, said. “Service trips are memorable because of the people you meet along the way. To step out of your comfort zone and to go on trips, it’s worth the sacrifice.”
The 2019 Study Away Photo Contest featured winners from a studentled service trip, international May Term trip and a summer study abroad. Another aspect of the contest is an installation of canvas wraps that will feature the three winning photos, according to Kathleen Sihler, the study away coordinator.
The installation will be on display in December. For more information on study away programs at Wartburg, contact Sihler at kathleen.sihler@wartburg. edu.
