Wartburg College Dance Marathon (WCDM) surpasses fundraising goal at its annual fall push day on Thursday, Nov. 24. The group raised $34,022.12. The organization’s initial goal was $30,000.
“It’s important for people to participate in Push day and just Dance Marathon in general because it really helps families in our own community,” Sam Pfab, a fourth-year student and co-director of WCDM, said. “Any kiddos that are sick or injured right here in Waverly or the Cedar Valley area would go to that hospital [the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital]. It is a local issue and it really does help people right here in town.”
As part of the festivities, executive team members were available to help students sign up and raise money.
“WCDM12 couldn’t have done this without all participants, donors and everyone who helped us accomplish our mission #ForTheKids this Push Day,” Wartburg College Dance Marathon said via Facebook. “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.”
