WARTBURG SPORTS INFORMATION
The No. 9/12 Wartburg football team downed Coe College 21-7 Saturday, Nov. 2 to remain undefeated and improve the team’s overall record to 8-0.
Quarterback Noah Dodd ’20 produced all the scoring for the Orange and Black. The Janesville native led the Knights’ offense with a career-high three rushing touchdowns. Dodd also threw for 190 yards and completed 20-of-30 passing attempts.
The home team marched down the field and scored on its first possession of the game in three minutes with a six-yard run. Dodd scored again near the end of the first quarter to give the Knights a 14-0 halftime lead.
The Wartburg defense limited the Kohawks to one score in the third quarter However, Wartburg held strong to force a Coe fumble and an interception. Dodd rushed in the team’s third touchdown of the game with under seven minutes left to secure the 14-point lead.
JoJo McNair ’21 brought in a season-high eight catches as a wide receiver while adding three tackles and an interception on defense. Antonio Santillan ’22 paced the defense with a team-high eight tackles.
Wartburg, now 6-0 in American Rivers Conference play, will face Central College at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, in Pella.
