After the Women’s Soccer team suffered a 2-1 American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) loss to the University of Dubuque, the team earned a 2-0 road win over the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolves on Saturday.
Knight Joy Smith ’22 scored for the seventh time this season at the 38-minute mark. Gabby Rohrer ’20 tallied a second-half score off a penalty kick to seal the win. Wartburg had 16 shot attempts compared to Nebraska Wesleyan’s three. All-Conference goalie Marissa Lopez ’22 added two saves.

Campbell ’22 scored the Knights’ lone goal two minutes into the game off a corner kick. Dubuque had one goal in each half to outscore Wartburg.
The Knights will continue conference play against the Loras DuHawks at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15 at home. Loras leads the A-R-C with a 4-0 conference record. Wartburg is tied with Dubuque for second place and is the only conference team receiving votes from the United Soccer Coaches top 25 and D3soccer.com.
