On Wednesday, Sept.18, Wartburg College held its annual Involvement Fair in the Hoover Fieldhouse & Track located in Wartburg-Waverly Sports & Wellness Center (The W).
Nearly 80 student organizations participated, including International Club, Pinnacle, Criminology and Sociology Club, Public Relations Student Society of America and Student Senate.
“It gives you a different network to meet new people. For me being a science major I’m only in science classes mainly, so I only get to see people within the department I am in,” Yusra Malik, thirdyear neuroscience and Spanish major, said.
“It goes the same with sports as well, if you are on a sports team you hang out with the people on your team. So by joining a club or organization you are able to meet new people outside of the main areas that you are in.”
The Dance Marathon organization (WCDM) also participated and is a premiere Miracle Network Dance Marathon program. The group is the largest philanthropic student organization on campus.
Over the past decade, WCDM has raised over $600,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network and the University of Iowa Stead Family Hospital. “The biggest thing I am looking forward to is the Dance Marathon,” Katie Berglund, a first-year physical exercise major, said.
“One of my teammates Sarah Campbell has her own team and invited the whole soccer team to join her team and be apart of this amazing event.” For more information on student organizations, go to wartburg.edu/orgs.
